Pesta Sukan 2026 is back as part of GetActive! Singapore, and Bedok Reservoir takes centre stage once again for some of the most exciting water sports on the National Day sporting calendar. As Singapore turns 61, the annual sports festival brings together over 30 sports across the island, and the reservoir in the heart of the East is hosting three flagship aquatic events across two consecutive weekends.
Dragon Boat & Para Dragon Boat, 18 & 19 July 2026
The action kicks off on the weekend of 18–19 July 2026 with the Pesta Sukan Dragon Boat competition at Bedok Reservoir. Teams from across Singapore will battle it out on the water in a celebration of speed, synchronised paddling and raw team spirit. Registration opened on 1 May and closed on 3 July, with crews competing across multiple categories on the reservoir's floating platform.
Running alongside the main Dragon Boat races is the Para Dragon Boat event, also held at Bedok Reservoir on 18–19 July. Part of the Pesta Sukan Para Sports lineup, the para competition welcomes persons with disabilities to compete in an inclusive, level-playing-field environment. Registration is open via the ActiveSG Circle portal, and participants may be required to submit a doctor's diagnosis to ensure fair classification.
National Canoe Polo Championships, 25–26 July & 1–2 August 2026
The following two weekends belong to Canoe Polo. Organised by the Singapore Canoe Federation under the 2026 Pesta Sukan banner, the National Canoe Polo Championships take place at Bedok Reservoir on 25–26 July and 1–2 August 2026. Registration opened on 15 June and closed on 4 July. Expect fast-paced, full-contact kayak action as teams jostle for possession and goal-scoring opportunities in a format that blends water polo with canoeing skill.
Spectator-Friendly & Free to Watch
One of the best things about Pesta Sukan at Bedok Reservoir is that it is completely free for spectators. The gravel track that loops around the reservoir offers unobstructed views of the floating platform and race lanes, so bring a picnic mat, grab a spot along the water's edge, and cheer on the competitors. The nearest MRT station is Bedok North (DT29), Exit B, about a 900m walk to the floating platform. Buses 5, 21, 59, 65 and 228 serve the nearby stops at Blocks 745 and 713 along Bedok Reservoir Road.
Weekly Bedok Reservoir parkrun, Every Saturday, 7:30am
Beyond Pesta Sukan, Bedok Reservoir also hosts a weekly parkrun every Saturday at 7:30am. The free, community 5k event starts at the floating platform and follows an anti-clockwise loop of the reservoir on gravel paths. Register once at parkrun.sg and just turn up, it is open to runners and walkers of all standards.
